Saputara sits at 1,000 metres in the Sahyadri hills, where the air is cooler and the surrounding Dang forest stretches away in green waves. The hill station is compact enough to walk, but the real draws are the lake at its heart, the ropeway with views over the plateau, and the surrounding Adivasi culture that makes this feel genuinely different from Gujarat's plains towns.
