Ambala is easy to reach because transport is the reason the city matters. Ambala Cantonment Junction is one of northern India's major rail junctions, with trains toward Delhi, Chandigarh, Kalka, Amritsar, Jammu, and the Himalayan foothills.
By road, the city sits near the Delhi-Chandigarh corridor and the old Grand Trunk Road. Chandigarh is about 45 km north, Delhi about 200 km south, and Kurukshetra roughly an hour away by road.
