Spiti Valley rewards those who take their time. The major monasteries — Key, Tabo, and Dhankar — are all within a day's drive of Kaza and deserve full visits rather than quick stops. The fossil villages of Langza and Hikkim make for an excellent morning circuit. Chandratal Lake and the Kunzum Pass are worth the drive to the head of the valley. Trekkers can access the Pin Valley National Park for multi-day routes and wildlife watching.
