Jammu Tawi railway station is the main rail gateway to Jammu and Kashmir, with connections to Delhi (about 9–10 hours on overnight trains), Mumbai, Kolkata, and other major cities. The station is the northern terminus of the rail line; the extension into the Kashmir Valley is still under construction.
Jammu Airport (IXJ) has flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar, and a handful of other cities. Auto-rickshaws and prepaid taxis connect the airport and station to the city centre. The main bus stand has services to Srinagar (8 hours), Katra (for Vaishno Devi, 2 hours), and towns throughout Jammu division.
Driving from Delhi takes around 12 hours via NH-44. The road is well maintained through Punjab but gets more challenging closer to Jammu.
