Peer Kho Cave Temple

A cave temple cut into a rock outcrop in the middle of the city, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The setting is unusual — the cave itself is natural, enhanced by modest construction, and the interior contains a Shiva lingam that pilgrims garland and anoint throughout the day. The cave sits beside the Tawi River near the old part of town, making it an easy walk from Raghunath Temple.

Less visited than the main temple complexes, Peer Kho has a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. The combination of the natural rock, the river, and the steady stream of worshippers makes it one of the more genuinely atmospheric spots in central Jammu. Worth a half-hour stop.
