Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum is a playful, offbeat stop on the road toward Chamundi Hill. Its displays use sand to create large themed scenes, figures, and mythological tableaux, making it very different from Mysore's palaces, temples, and colonial-era museums.
This is not essential Mysore, but it is memorable in the way odd small museums often are. Families tend to enjoy it, and it works well as a short add-on if you are already heading between the city and Chamundi Hill.
