Oyster Bay Restaurant

Oyster Bay, in the Lalitha Mahal Road area, is one of the few places in Mysore to eat well in the evening — a slightly more formal restaurant that does both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cooking, including a range of coastal Karnataka seafood dishes that you will not find at the standard city-centre thali places. The pomfret and prawn curries, cooked in the Mangalorean style with coconut and tamarind, are the picks from the menu.

The setting is pleasant and unhurried — a contrast to the canteen pace of the breakfast and lunch joints that define most of Mysore's restaurant scene. It is a good option for a longer evening meal before or after the Sunday palace illumination.
