Gundert Memorial Church

Gundert Memorial Church was built in 1839 by the German missionary and scholar Hermann Gundert, whose work in Malayalam language and printing still matters in Kerala. The church mixes colonial and local Kerala forms, with tiled roofs, a bell tower, and an adjoining cemetery.

It is a modest but worthwhile stop for travellers interested in Thalassery's layered colonial, religious, and literary history.
