Valliyoorkkavu Temple is one of Wayanad's most important temples for local tribal communities. It is dedicated to the Mother Goddess, worshipped here in the forms of Vana Durga, Bhadrakali, and Jala Durga.
The temple is especially significant during its annual festival in March or April, when communities from across the district gather for fifteen days. Outside festival time it is a quieter stop, but still useful for understanding Wayanad's religious and tribal traditions.
