Dapoli's appeal is primarily natural: beaches within a few kilometres of the town, a lush hilly setting above the Konkan coast, and a pace of life that has not yet been disrupted by mass tourism. The town itself has a small but interesting historic footprint — British cantonment buildings, temples, and connections to Maharashtra's reform era — but most visitors come for the coastline and the green countryside.
