Things to Do

Diveagar is small enough that the list of things to do can be honest: walk the beach, visit a temple or two, eat fish curry, watch the sunset. The Suvarna Ganesh temple gives the village its modern claim to fame after a gold idol was unearthed in a betel-nut garden in 1997. Beyond that, what people come for is the absence of crowds — the calm sea from October to May, the casuarina-lined sand, and a rural Konkan pace that disappears two hours up the road in Mumbai.
