The long road bridge over the Kathajodi river is named for Subhas Chandra Bose, born in Cuttack in 1897 and one of the city's most famous sons. It is not a beautiful piece of engineering — a plain, multi-span concrete bridge — but it gives the best view of the river and the city's southern flank, and is worth a walk at sunset.
The bridge connects Cuttack to the eastern suburbs and to the highway south toward Bhubaneswar. On the city side there is a small park where families gather in the evenings.
