Zion Church in Tharangambadi was consecrated in 1701 and is often described as the oldest Protestant church in India. Its architecture reflects both colonial and local influences, tied to the old Danish settlement around Fort Dansborg.
The church has been rebuilt and altered over time, but it remains one of the key historic stops for understanding Tranquebar's European and Tamil layers.
