Bhatta Falls is one of the easier waterfall excursions from Mussoorie, reached below the hill road on the Dehradun side of town. It is smaller and less famous than Kempty Falls, which is part of its appeal if you want a short outing without giving over half a day to traffic and crowds.
The visit is simple: a hillside approach, cold water, rocks, snack stalls and the usual North Indian hill-station picnic mood. It is worth considering in the warmer months, especially with children, but it is not a wilderness experience; go for a relaxed splash and a change of scene from the Mall Road ridge.
