Things to Do

Mussoorie's appeal is largely about the setting: the ridge walk, the views north to the snows, the cool air after the heat of the plains. Most of what the town offers follows from that geography. The Main market strip, Mall Road, runs the spine of the ridge and everything radiates from it.

The most rewarding excursions tend to be on foot. The Camel's Back Road gives a quieter, car-free circuit above the rooftops, and the walk up to Landour and Lal Tibba rewards the extra effort with better views and less crowd than anything below. Gun Hill by ropeway is the classic visitor experience — worth it for the panorama on a clear morning.
