Kalsang is one of the most reliable restaurants on Mall Road, and the go-to address for Tibetan food in Mussoorie. The momos — steamed dumplings filled with vegetables or meat — are the main reason to come, and the thukpa (noodle soup) is a good option on a cold evening. The restaurant has been here long enough that it has become something of an institution.
The décor is plain and the service informal. It fills up quickly in the evenings, especially in peak season. If you don't want to queue, come for a late lunch or early dinner. The prices are fair by any standard, and the portions are substantial. A good alternative to the more expensive hotel restaurants on the same strip.
