The India Government Mint in Sector 1 is one of four mints in the country and produces the bulk of India's circulating coinage. Operated by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India, the facility opened in 1989 and has been the main source of stainless-steel and bimetallic Indian coins ever since.
The mint is not open to the general public, but the substantial brick complex behind its security wall is one of the few pieces of distinctive industrial architecture in the otherwise rectilinear Noida grid. The on-site museum is occasionally open to school and college groups by prior arrangement, and a small visitor counter sells commemorative coin sets. Worth a brief look if you are passing.
