Noida Film City, in Sector 16A, is the principal hub of the Hindi-language television industry. It is not a film city in the Bollywood sense — there are no studios open to the public — but the area is densely packed with television studios, news channels, post-production houses and the offices of media production companies. Anyone who watches Indian TV will recognise the buildings from a thousand news backdrops.
There are no organised tours, and most of the studios sit behind security gates. But the surrounding streets are an interesting urban form: tightly clustered media offices interspersed with cheap restaurants for the industry's army of editors, runners and producers. If you have an interest in Indian media, an hour spent walking through Film City is worthwhile.
