Shyamrai Temple, also called the Pancha Ratna Temple, was built in 1643 under Raghunath Singha. Its five pinnacles give it a stronger silhouette than most of the town's brick temples, but the real reason to linger is the terracotta work.
Look closely at the exterior panels: Krishna scenes, musicians, animals, floral borders, and courtly details are packed into the walls. This is Bishnupur at its most delicate, where a small temple surface becomes a whole illustrated world.
