Tipu Sultan Mosque

Tipu Sultan Mosque is one of Esplanade's best-known landmarks. Built in 1842 by Prince Ghulam Mohammed, the youngest son of Tipu Sultan, it is still an active mosque and a reminder of Kolkata's links with Mysore's royal history.

Visitors from all backgrounds are allowed to see the historic complex and take photos, though it should be treated first as a place of worship.
