Banjar Hot Springs

Air Panas Banjar — the Banjar hot springs — sit in a small valley behind the same hillside as Brahma Vihara Arama. The water comes out at around 37°C, hot enough to relax in but not painfully so, and is channelled through stone naga (serpent) carvings into three pools at different levels. The lower pool gets a heavy spout from above that doubles as a back massage.

There is a small restaurant on a terrace overlooking the pools. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. The site is popular with Balinese families on weekends; weekday mornings are the calmest time to visit.

A story
Eight carved naga heads spit hot sulphur water into a series of stone pools, hidden in jungle a few kilometres inland. It is touristy in the middle of the day and almost empty if you arrive at opening time.
