Getting There

Bogor is best reached from Jakarta by commuter rail — the KRL Commuterline runs from Jakarta Kota station to Bogor station in about 60–90 minutes, depending on the service. Trains run frequently throughout the day and the fare is very cheap. This is by far the most comfortable option; the road is notoriously congested.

By car or taxi from Jakarta, the journey can take two to four hours depending on traffic — the Jagorawi Toll Road is fast in theory but jammed at rush hour and on weekends. Most visitors take the train.

From Bandung, buses take about three hours along a scenic mountain road. The Cipularang Toll Road connects Bandung to Jakarta and passes close to Bogor, making a stop practical.
