Situ Patenggang is a calm highland lake wrapped in the tea fields of Rancabali. Boats and pedalos make it more local picnic ground than wilderness, but the cool air and plantation slopes are lovely after Kawah Putih's sulphur. The lake is tied to a Sundanese story of separated lovers, which explains the small romantic stops around the shore.
