The General Soedirman statue stands on the central Jakarta avenue named after him. Soedirman led Indonesian forces during the guerrilla war against the Dutch in 1948-49, and the monument gives a bit of historical weight to one of the city's main business corridors.
It is a quick look rather than a destination in itself, best noticed while passing through the Sudirman area.
