Most international visitors arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, about 20km west of the city center. Taxis to central Jakarta take 30 minutes to over an hour depending on traffic. The airport rail link to Sudirman station is the fastest option.
Domestic flights connect Jakarta to every major city in Indonesia. Ferries from Sumatra dock at Merak port in the west, with bus connections onward to the city. Long-distance trains and buses arrive from cities across Java.
