Jakarta Art Building, also known as Gedung Kesenian Jakarta, is one of the city's best-known performing arts venues. The colonial-era theatre hosts concerts, dance, theatre, and orchestral performances in a historic building near Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral.
Even if you are not attending a show, the building is worth noticing on a central Jakarta walk. Check the programme if you want an evening stop that is more local than the shopping malls.
