Gong Cave is the best-known cave in the Pacitan area, with lit chambers, stalactites, stalagmites, and the slightly theatrical colour that Indonesian show caves often use. It is developed for visitors, so it is easier than a wild cave trip.
The cave pairs naturally with the beaches west of town. Go early if you want cooler air and fewer groups inside.
