Watu Karung Beach is the serious surf name on the Pacitan coast. The waves here can be powerful and clean, drawing experienced surfers rather than casual swimmers, and the village setting keeps it calmer than better-known Indonesian surf towns.
Even if you do not surf, the beach is worth the drive for the view of boats, limestone hills, and Indian Ocean water. Conditions change quickly, so ask locally before getting in.
