Gua Kreo is a cave and recreation area on the western edge of Semarang, set near the Jatibarang reservoir. Local legend links the cave with Sunan Kalijaga, and the surrounding trees are home to macaques that have become part of the site's identity.
It is a relaxed half-day nature stop rather than a major cave expedition. Keep food secured around the monkeys, wear shoes for uneven paths, and combine the cave with the reservoir views if you want a break from Semarang's old town and temples.
