Situ Gede is a small lake on the western edge of Tasikmalaya, used for easy boat rides, fish lunches, and a pause from the city. It is not a reason to cross Java by itself, but it works well as a gentle stop after Galunggung or on a slow local afternoon.
The best part is the ordinary local rhythm: families on the water, food stalls near the shore, and the sense that Tasik has stepped back from its traffic for a while.
