Bamboo Rafting on the Amandit River

Bamboo rafting on the Amandit River is the most popular day activity in Loksado and provides a completely different experience from the mountain treks. Rafts are constructed from thick bamboo poles lashed together, typically large enough for two or three passengers plus a guide who steers with a long pole. The journey from Loksado down to Muara Hatip takes around two to three hours on calm stretches, with a few minor rapids that add some interest without being dangerous.

The ride passes through forest-fringed banks, small riverside villages, and occasional rocky sections where the guide earns their fee. It can be arranged as a one-way trip with transport back, or as a return portion of a trek that ends in Loksado.

Arrange rafting through your guesthouse or through local guides at the Loksado bridge. The cost is modest and negotiated directly. Morning departures avoid the midday heat and give the best light on the forest.
