Getting There

By air: Lombok International Airport (LOP) at Praya, about 20 km south of Mataram, receives direct flights from Bali (30 minutes), Jakarta, Surabaya, and Singapore, as well as connections to other Indonesian cities. Taxis from the airport to Mataram and Senggigi cost around IDR 150,000–200,000; the drive takes 30–45 minutes.

By sea from Bali: The most popular connection is the fast boat from Padangbai (Bali) to Teluk Nare or Bangsal on Lombok — these are usually boat-and-Gili-Islands combo services that connect Bali, Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, Gili Air, and Lombok Harbour in various combinations. Journey time is 1.5–2.5 hours depending on the route. The Bali–Lombok public ferry from Padangbai to Lembar runs 24 hours (journey time around 4–5 hours) and is cheaper but slower.

Within Indonesia: Daily flights from most major Indonesian cities. Lombok is well connected to the eastern islands (Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba) for those doing an island-hopping route east.
