Masjid Raya Hubbul Wathan is one of Mataram's most visible landmarks, a large modern mosque with a dramatic dome and minarets that rise above the city. It reflects Lombok's strong Sasak Muslim identity in a way that many visitors notice immediately after arriving.
The mosque is most striking from outside and around prayer times, when the building feels woven into daily life rather than presented as a museum piece. Dress respectfully and be mindful of worshippers if you visit the grounds.
