Holbung Hill is a rolling grass-covered viewpoint above the western side of Lake Toba. The draw is simple: a short climb, open ridgelines and wide views over the lake, villages and surrounding highlands.
It is also used as a camping spot, but day visitors come mainly for the scenery. Go early or late in the day for softer light and less heat on the exposed slopes.
