Sumbawa's beaches are largely uncrowded and varied. The north coast has calmer water good for snorkelling; the south coast has the surf breaks that have made Sumbawa a destination for serious surfers; and the islands offshore — Moyo in particular — offer some of the best diving in Nusa Tenggara.
