Kupang

The bustling capital of Indonesian Timor and of East Nusa Tenggara — a port city and the main gateway to the eastern islands.

Kupang is the largest city in Indonesian Timor and the capital of East Nusa Tenggara province. A sprawling, sweaty port on the island's southwest tip, it is the transport hub for the whole region — flights and ferries fan out from here to the surrounding islands — and a base for nearby beaches, the offshore island of Semau, and the Crystal Cave.
