Dizengoff Street

Dizengoff Street runs north-south through central Tel Aviv for about two kilometres and is the city's main shopping and café street, particularly the central stretch between Frishman and Arlozorov. It is also the street that Tel Avivians like to claim as the symbol of the city — laid back, slightly faded, full of cafés, and visibly Tel Avivian.

The southern stretch toward Dizengoff Square is the more atmospheric for walking; the northern stretch becomes lower-key and more residential. The street is dotted with small kiosks and casual restaurants and is at its best in the late afternoon when the heat lifts.
