Tiberias is about 130 kilometres north of Tel Aviv. There is no train service directly to Tiberias — the nearest stations are Haifa or Beit She'an, from which Egged buses continue to the lake. Direct express buses run from Tel Aviv's central bus station and take about two and a half hours. From Haifa, the journey is about 90 minutes by bus.
If you are driving, Tiberias is reached via Highway 77 from the west or Highway 90 along the Jordan Valley from the south. Parking near the promenade can be tight in summer.
