Yokotani Gorge is a wooded ravine near Gero known for a chain of four waterfalls, ranging from small cascades to drops of more than 30 metres. Paths lead between the falls, making it a straightforward nature walk rather than a serious hike.
It is a good half-day change from Gero's onsen streets, especially after rain when the water is running strongly.
