Zensho-ji Temple is a Zen temple north of central Gero, built in a style influenced by Song-dynasty Chinese architecture. The exterior is handsome, but the inner garden is the reason to linger.
It makes a calm side trip from the hot-spring town, especially if you have already seen Onsenji Temple and want a quieter temple stop.
