Nanao Castle Ruins have only modest surviving stonework, but the hilltop setting is the reason to go. From the old castle site you get wide views over Nanao, the bay, and the surrounding countryside.
It is a peaceful stop on a clear day, especially in spring. Do not expect a reconstructed castle; treat it as a historic viewpoint with a little remaining masonry rather than a castle visit.
