Omi Koho-an Temple is a quiet mountain temple connected with Kobori Enshu, the tea master and lord of Komuro Castle. Its garden is the main reason to visit, combining dry landscape elements with a strolling pond garden that uses the surrounding hills and greenery as part of the design.
The temple is especially noted for autumn colour in northern Lake Biwa, when the garden setting gives it more appeal than a quick temple stop in town.
