Time Bomb Records is an institution of the Osaka music scene, a record shop on the Kitahorie edge of Amerika-mura that has been supplying the city's punk, hardcore, and garage fans since the early 1990s. The bins are deep in vinyl and CDs across the louder end of the spectrum, with imports, local releases, and a wall of band flyers that doubles as a guide to what is on around town.
It fits the character of the neighbourhood exactly: independent, knowledgeable, and aimed at people who care. Even if you are not buying, it is a good place to find out where the gigs are and to feel the subculture that gave Amerika-mura its name. Several other record and second-hand shops cluster nearby in Kitahorie.
