Kennen Kinenkan is one of Gunma Prefecture's older Western-style buildings, a reminder of the period when Kiryu's textile wealth brought new architectural fashions into the city. The building now displays local antiquities.
It pairs well with Kiryu's textile museums and historic streets. Come for the architecture as much as the exhibits: the building helps show how a silk and textile town absorbed outside styles while keeping its own local identity.
