Kiryu Textile Memorial Hall occupies the former headquarters of the Kiryu Textile Manufacturers Association, a 1930s building from the city's confident industrial period. Inside are textile displays and a shop for locally made cloth, but the building itself is half the point.
It makes a useful bridge between craft and urban history. Kiryu's textile story was not only rural handwork; it was organised, commercial, and proud enough to build civic architecture around the trade.
