Ogasawara is subtropical, with warm water, humid summers, and typhoon risk. Winter and early spring are cooler and good for humpback whale watching. Summer brings strong beach weather and active marine tours, but also heat, humidity, and the possibility of storm disruption.
The most important timing issue is not the month but the ferry. Check sailing dates first, then build the trip around them.
