Yokohama Landmark Tower is the vertical marker of Minato Mirai, rising above the waterfront district with shops, restaurants, offices, and an observation deck. The view is the reason to go: Yokohama Bay, the harbour, the towers of Tokyo on a clear day, and sometimes Mount Fuji beyond the urban plain.
It works especially well near sunset, when the city lights begin to separate the waterfront from the darker bay. Pair it with a walk through Minato Mirai, the old docks, and the harbourfront parks to see how Yokohama turned former port land into one of Japan's cleanest urban waterfronts.
