Yokohama is pleasant year-round. Spring (late March to early May) is the most popular season: cherry blossoms transform Yamashita Park and the grounds of Sankeien Garden, and the weather is mild and clear. Autumn (October and November) brings comfortable temperatures and vivid foliage. Summer (June to September) is hot and humid, with a rainy season in June and July; typhoons occasionally pass through in August and September. Winter is cool but rarely bitterly cold, and the harbour and Minato Mirai look particularly attractive when decorated for Christmas.
