Osanbashi Pier

Yokohama’s sculptural cruise terminal and public deck overlooking the bay skyline

Osanbashi Pier is both Yokohama's international passenger terminal and one of the city's best free viewpoints. The long, low structure reaches into the harbour with a timber-and-grass roof deck that feels more like a public landscape than a transport building.

Come near sunset if you can. From the deck you can look back to Minato Mirai, the Red Brick Warehouse, Yamashita Park, and the Bay Bridge, all in one sweep. Even without a ship in port, it is one of the easiest places to understand Yokohama as a harbour city.
