Aharen Beach is the social hub of Tokashiki Island — a crescent of white sand on the south coast, sheltered by a headland and backed by the small village of Aharen. The water is exceptionally clear, with extensive reef just offshore; you can snorkel from the beach without a boat.
Several dive shops and equipment rental places operate from Aharen village, most offering snorkel sets, kayaks, and glass-bottomed boat tours as well as full scuba. The camping area behind the beach is popular with budget travellers; facilities are basic but the location is outstanding. The village has a handful of minshuku (family guesthouses), a few simple restaurants, and an izakaya or two — everything shuts early.
